About
Musicam Sacram is the brand-new East Tennessee chapter of the Church Music Association of America (CMAA). If you live in or near East Tennessee and love Catholic sacred music—from Gregorian chant to Renaissance polyphony and worthy modern compositions that are both beautiful and theologically sound—please join us.
And please join CMAA to help support liturgical renewal in the United States. Membership costs $36 annually for individuals and $160 for parishes. All members receive the excellent quarterly journal Sacred Music; parish members receive six copies.
To join CMAA online, click the link above. Or download and mail a flier.
Through this site and our Google e-mail list we’ll share information about what East Tennessee Catholic musicians are doing at Mass and in concert, church documents on music and liturgy, U.S. workshops to attend, opportunities to join local choirs and scholas, and what Pope Benedict XVI is doing to spur liturgical reform.
The chapter hopes to meet quarterly at various locations around the Diocese of Knoxville and to sponsor workshops. Please e-mail if you would like to host a meeting—or have any questions about the group.
We place ourselves under the patronage of St. Gregory the Great.
