Pope Benedict XVI Schola plans concert
You’re all invited to the Pope Benedict XVI Schola’s first concert, set for 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at Holy Ghost Church in Knoxville. The theme is “Sacred Choral Music From Byrd to Bruckner,” and our friend Charles Walden will also perform. The concert is free, but we will gratefully accept any donations. Proceeds will benefit Holy Ghost Church and the schola.
Concert repertory is primarily Renaissance music (including an all-English set), with Gregorian chant and some Classical and later selections.
All the schola’s singers, incidentally, are Musicam Sacram members . . .
